In a pretty garden lived a proud Peacock named Sparkle. He loved his big, bright feathers! He just loved to show them off. He often looked down at the tiny, busy Ants.

"Look at those tiny Ants!" Sparkle would say. "Always carrying little crumbs! So boring! My feathers are much nicer!"

A small Ant named Pip heard him. Pip and his ant friends worked very hard. They collected food and put it safely in their home underground.

One year, it didn't rain for a long, long time. The garden became dry. Sparkle got very, very hungry. His bright feathers looked sad.

But Pip and his friends had lots of food in their home!

Pip saw Sparkle looking sad. He walked up to Sparkle. "Are you hungry?" Pip asked. "We have food. You can share with us!"

Sparkle was so hungry, he said yes. Pip and the ants shared their food.

Sparkle learned a big lesson. He learned that being kind and working hard is more important than just looking pretty. He started to respect all creatures.
