One hot, sunny day, there was a thirsty crow named Koko. He flew here and there, looking for even a tiny drop of water. His throat was very dry, and he felt so weak.
Koko searched everywhere – in the ponds, in the puddles, but there was no water to be found. He felt really sad.
Finally, after a long flight, Koko spotted something! Below him, in a garden, there was a tall pot! "Water!" he chirped excitedly. He quickly flew down and landed on the edge of the pot.
But oh dear! Koko looked inside, and the water was at the very bottom. No matter how much he stretched his neck, his beak just couldn't reach the water. He tried and tried, but it was no use.
Koko felt disappointed, but he was a clever crow. He didn't give up! He began to think, "How can I get to that water?" He looked around, and then he saw some small pebbles on the ground nearby.
Suddenly, Koko had a brilliant idea! He flew down, picked up a pebble in his beak, and dropped it into the pot. Plink! The water didn't move much. He picked up another pebble, and another, dropping them one by one. Plink! Plink! Plink!
Slowly, very slowly, the water in the pot began to rise up! Koko kept working, pebble after pebble, until the water was finally high enough. He dipped his beak into the cool water and drank, and drank, and drank until he was full and happy.
With a happy caw, Koko flew away, feeling refreshed and proud of his clever idea.
Where there's a will, there's a way!
