The Little Bear Who Lost His Roar

Little Buster Bear loved to roar. He'd roar when he was happy, he'd roar when he was playing, and he'd roar to say good morning! But one sunny day, Buster woke up and tried to roar... and nothing came out! "Oh no!" he thought. "Where did my roar go?"

He asked his friend, Rosie Rabbit. Rosie giggled, "Maybe it's hiding in the flowers!" Buster looked among the flowers, but no roar. He asked Flicker Squirrel. Flicker chattered, "Perhaps it bounced away in the bouncy leaves!" Buster looked in the leaves, but still no roar.

Finally, Buster felt a little sad. He sat down by the big oak tree and sighed a quiet little sigh. Just then, his Mama Bear walked by. "What's wrong, my little one?" she asked softly.

Buster tried to tell her, but all that came out was a tiny squeak. Mama Bear hugged him tight. "Sometimes," she said, "when we're a little tired or a little sad, our big voices need a rest. But they always come back!"

Mama Bear tickled Buster's tummy, and he let out a little giggle. Then, without even trying, a tiny, happy ROAR popped out! Buster giggled even more, and soon, his big, happy roars were back, even louder than before!

Moral of the Story:

It's okay to feel sad or quiet sometimes. Our happy feelings (and big voices!) always come back!
