One sunny day, a little jackal named Jackie was super hungry. He trotted here and there, sniffing for something yummy to eat.
He wandered out of his jungle and found himself in a big, open field. It looked like a busy place once, because near a tall tree, there was a huge drum left all alone.
Suddenly, a strong wind began to blow! The tree branches swayed and rubbed against the drum, making a strange, loud sound: "BOOM-BOOM! WHUMP-WHUMP!"
Jackie the jackal jumped! He was so scared. "Oh no!" he thought. "What is that scary noise? If whoever's making it sees me, I'm in big trouble! I need to run away, fast!"
He was just about to bolt when he stopped himself. "Wait a minute," he thought. "Running away without knowing what's going on isn't very smart. I need to be brave and find out where this loud noise is coming from."
So, Jackie took a deep breath, wiggled his nose, and crept forward very, very slowly. He peeked around the tree... and saw the giant drum! He realized it was just the wind making all the noise, not some scary monster.
His fear vanished! Jackie felt so brave. He kept looking for food, and right there, near the drum, he found plenty of delicious treats and fresh water. He had a feast!
Only the brave succeed in life.
